Pocket Aces is a powerful hand especially before the flop. Always raise and reraise when you hold them. Since they are not guaranteed winners you must try and get as many people s possible out of the game before the flop. This will reduce the size of the pot but it will increase your chances of winning. An alternate strategy is to slow play the pocket Aces. Just limp into the pot and call the raises until the flop. If another Ace flops giving you the set with your pocket pair you will have to make a decision weather to slow play the aces depending on what kind of hands can be made from the flop. Three Card Flush or Straight V. Pocket Aces If you see a three card flush or a three card straight flop get set to drop the Pocket Aces. What ever you do, do not change the expression on your face, let go with a heavy sigh, or start fussing with your chips. There is no point in ruining it for a semi-bluff, if it comes to that. Aside from the fact that you should be working hard to develop a poker face and rid yourself of tells There is no point in ruining it for a semi-bluff. Two Pair Aces Up Suppose, instead of the set, the flop is another pair. Remote though the possibility is, there might be someone else who is holding Aces as a pocket pair. You might end up splitting the pot with him. But realistically you have to take a long hard look at the pair. The worst, of course, is deuces. And the best, a pair of Kings. Now you have a shot at the full house. Be Watchful of The Flush or Straight If someone is holding a four card Straight or Flush they still have two more draws till the showdown. Three of a Kind Also be careful of the trips. The low pair on the table may have given someone three of a kind. The Three Eights will slaughter your Aces over Eights. |
