Lady luck is very fickle.
You can toss the dice, while they are in the air you may be
in a bad luck period. When the dice hit the back board, you
may still be in a bad luck period, but when they hit the
table you may have transitioned to a good luck period and
make money on the toss.
Playing holdem poker
subjects you to the same fickle finger it does not change
direction so rapidly. You may have been dealt a mid rank
hand but you can use your poker playing skill to get to the
money. Make sure that your poker face is firmly in place.
You do not want any tells showing. Don't fidget, play with
your chips, or even blink, if you can help it.
Take advantage of a tall
stack if you can. Meet aggression with even more forceful
aggression. The chance that your opponent has a better hand
than you is about even, if you have read him right. All you
need is a stroke of good luck, a fluke of fortune can still
find you on the river. Your advantage will lay in the fact
that you are changing your poker strategy. If you have been
playing tight and aggressive to this point you will have
lulled the other players into thinking that is your mode of
play for the game. Never before have you gambled so much on
so little. This is your chance to show that you have the
ability to switch styles without warning or reason. Playing
loose aggressive poker is a money loser unless you do it
infrequently and to shake up the opposition.
You will make money if you
learn to play the good luck streaks very hard and back off
on the bad. Some streaks may last for a day and some could
run for man weeks. If you find yourself in a lucky streak
take advantage of it and push it hard.
