Playing Your Down Cards

I was playing Texas Holdem online this morning. A free game just to while away some time until my buddy picked me up to go to the casino. For some reason I kept getting pocket pairs. First it was a pair of Deuces. The flop came 8d,Ah,8s which gave me two pair Eight's and Twos. Losers. More

People skills are not needed in Internet casinos:

The reason is obvious. You do not meet the other players face to face. You spend no time looking for tells because you are faced with an immobile avatar that cannot give anything away. Playing poker face to face in a brick and mortar card room is a lot different. You can substitute some of your technical know how with your read of the opposition.

The Different Types of Poker Players

Poker Players vary in type. It has nothing to do with the color of their skins or the religion that they like. It has to do with the personalities that they bring to the poker table. The tight passive style player does not like to take risks. For instance, He will not raise or reraise before the flop with a pair of Aces in the pocket. He sits on his money and on his hands and never gets value for the good hands that he catches. He may win modest amounts from time to time but will loose over the long run. Without maximizing his profits in the hand or two an hour that he plays he is on a downward slope. It is slight but it is still going down.

Short Stack Of Poker Chips

It is going to happen to you. One fine day you will find yourself with a short stack of poker chips. There is no question that when you are in this position that you are at a distinct disadvantage. The Big Stacks are going to try and roll over you and get you out of the game. If it is a money game they like nothing better than see a guy rebuy chips.

If You Tilt Playing Holdem Get Out Of The Game

Tilt is the loss of control that you experience during a losing streak or after a particularly bad beat. The best way to recover from tilt is to accept your loss and get out of the game. Let some time pass. regain your poker sense and get back into the game. This will happen to everybody, sooner or later. The advantage of an Internet poker room is that you do not have to spend the money for gas, food, and drink. It is far easier to change tables on the Internet. The only thing that I could do was get up and walk around my chair a time or two. It was no help.

Playing Texas Holdem For Real Money

Playing Texas Holdem for real money is exciting and lots of fun. Of course, it is almost every ones dream to play holdem for the million dollar jackpots at some tournament in Las Vegas but for most of us that is just not going to happen. Very few of us have the ten thousand dollar buy in to get into the Vegas Tournaments and have to be satisfied with playing poker online. If you are an average guy and have the average amount of expendable income you will still have lots of fun. If you are playing with money that you cannot afford to loose then you have a problem and Houston will not bail your ass out. If you lack people skills don't fret, Check Here.

The Bad Beat. What can You Do when It Hits You

I was playing last night and got creamed by a, "Bad Beat". I was sitting with Ace/Ace in the pocket and hit a set on the flop. Of course I was raising every chance that I could and did not get a reraise until the river. Which was OK with me. The flop was Ace-h-7d-5c. The turn, 2d, and the river 7h. The seven of hearts gave me the full house so I raised back. After the smoke cleared I was beaten by 4 7s. I did the only thing that a sane man can do and went to play Craps

Reading The Texas Holdem Poker Board

When you look at the flop always take your time and use the same abount of time every time. Don' look at any of the other players when you raise your head. look instead at a neutral place or the dealer. You should not have picked up your cards until you have had a chance to study the other players at the table pick up theirs. Holdem can be fast paced but you can slow it down some without being obnoxious about it.
