playing Texas Holdem you have already read lots of books on the

every situation. Poker is War and you are not interested in
prisoners. Exploit every weakness. This is about making money. That
is how you keep score.
Lots of people think that Texas Holdem Poker is a game of luck. While
there is some luck involved there are very many times that you can
make your own luck. It just takes lots and lots of skill to do
it.
A lot of the luck that you make for yourself will be involved with
playing your position to the maximum. If you are acting as the dealer
or, "On the button" as it is called you have the leeway to play much
more agressively because you already have information about all the
other players hands. Did they call, raise, or fold? If you are first
to bet then you have to, first of all, play fewer hands, and second,
play conservatively.

The most common reason that you are always losing when you play poker is that you are playing in to many hands. If you look at any two pocket cards and add a little imagination you can make a good five card hand out of almost anything. Is it going to happen. sure it is but is going to happen such a small percentage of the time that you will always loose in the long run if you play these hands. Try playing only, what I call the blackjack hands the next time you sit down to the table. These are hands that add up to 20 or 21. Aces are 11 and face cards are ten with all the other cards their stated numerical value.
