It is going to happen to you. One fine day you will find yourself with a short stack of poker chips. There is no question that when you are in this position that you are at a distinct disadvantage. The Big Stacks are going to try and roll over you and get you out of the game. If it is a money game they like nothing better than see a guy rebuy chips.
It is disheartening to get beat that way but I knew it could happen and had already fitted the eventuality into my plan. Never ever sit down to play poker without a plan. A good solid plan will keep panic at bay. The first thing that you need to decide beforehand is how much money you are willing to risk. Buy in for half that amount.
Contrary to conventional wisdom I always go after the guy with the biggest stack, if I can. He is the most likely to call you with a mediocre hand. He knows that your raise might be a bluff. First because you are on the ropes, therefor bluffing, and Second if he does not beat you. Your stack will just get bigger.
